About me
I am an abstract artist living and working in South Norfolk UK.
My mixed-media approach to my abstract artwork is a reflection of my experience of the world. I describe it as experimental, informed by my interest in shapes, spaces, lines and patterns and influenced by the mundane. I seek to provide the viewer with glimpses of the world using things noticed, observed or collected and seen perhaps from a different and unexpected perspective.
Making a painting, usually with collage and acrylic, is a delicate balance of selection and discernment. Questions arise during the practice of layering, editing and stripping back. This process-led, mixed media response necessitates risk and chance; conversations between the emerging surface of the painting and my intuition. I build a synthesis.

‘Abstract art is uniquely modern. It is a fundamentally romantic response to modern life – rebellious, individualistic, unconventional, sensitive, irritable.’ Robert Motherwell.
